Customer Service Advisor

Full-time positions available. This is a hybrid-based role, our offices are located in Little Island Cork.

 

The role:

  • Support our members enquiries, evaluate situations and respond appropriately through all contact channels.
  • Record and respond to all complaints to ensure that complaints are dealt with in a timely manner, and to ensure that all complaints and the remedial action taken in accordance with guidelines set out within the Consumer Protection Code
  • Ensure computer records reflect up to date communications with the member.
  • Ensure that members payment methods are accurate, and all transactions recorded on individual or Group accounts to reflect billing changes.
  • To sell laya healthcare products to individuals and groups and to ensure follow up action to each sale, in accordance with Sales Procedures.
  • To enrol members on the Avondhu system and to ensure members details are entered correctly.
  • To achieve required CX standards across all interactions on all our channels. 
  • Carry out credit control in instances where monies are outstanding.
  • To identify and to contribute to continuous improvements in working practices and customer care.
  • To undertake all duties required to develop and maintain Customer Service, and any other duties requested in order to fulfil the needs of the business.

 

Eligibility:

  • Minimum of Leaving Certificate or equivalent is desirable. Third level qualification also desirable but not essential.
  • Experience involving client contact or customer service in the insurance industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
  • This role would suit a sincere and capable individual.
  • You will enjoy learning and be keen to participate in the company’s success.

Legal Specialist/Legal Counsel

This is a hybrid-based role, our offices are located in Little Island Cork.

 

The role:

The primary function of the Legal Specialist is to provide support in the areas of contracts, complaints and dispute resolution, privacy and other legal areas as may be required to support the business and the team

  • Preparing and/or reviewing contracts on behalf of the business and working with contract owners, the procurement team and others in this regard.
  • Assisting with advising the business on member complaints and appeals, including matters referred to the FSPO.
  • Assisting with the management of litigation issues.
  • Assisting with managing the relationship with external legal counsel.
  • Evaluating legal risks and providing support to mitigate issues.
  • Assisting with assessing the impact of new and pending legislation and its effect on the business.
  • Assisting with corporate governance matters.
  • Assisting with data protection matters.
  • Advising non-legal team members on legal language and contract matters.
  • Ability to assess contract risk. Ability to identify and mitigate legal risk across the business. Ability to make decisions but to know when to seek further advices.

 

Eligibility:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required. Legal qualification desirable but not essential.
  • 2-5+ years of similar experience post qualification in a legal firm or inhouse environment, or otherwise working in the health insurance industry. Commercial contract and agreement drafting and review experience desirable. Experience with dispute handling and/or litigation an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, strong attention to detail and a commercial mind-set. Demonstrated ability to prioritise work load in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to work on own initiative but also as a team.

Legal Counsel

This is a hybrid-based role, our offices are located in Little Island Cork.

 

The role:

The Legal & Regulatory Affairs Department provides all the legal management and advice required to support the business, customers and team of Laya healthcare.

 

  • To act as a legal counsel in support of the Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs in the provision of business focused legal/regulatory advice and guidance as required.
  • Provide advices to the business on all aspects of the GDPR and other data protection/privacy related matters.
  • Provide advices to the business on the emerging and evolving data and digital legal landscape including DORA, the EU Accessibility Act, the Data Act, etc.
  • Act as ambassador for the Laya brand and values at all times.
  • Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice, guidance and support the legal function and the laya team in the delivery of the company strategy and vision.
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
  • Liaise with AXA Legal and other departments as required.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities as required.
  • Communicate with and manage external counsel and costs as required.
  • Track ongoing legal work.
  • Research changes in legislation and industry best practices and work proactively to update contract templates and company policies accordingly.
  • Provide legal training to the business on areas of expertise.
  • Advise on commercial/corporate contracts.
  • Advise on agreements generally.
  • Review and advise on operational and strategic legal matters in relation to private medical insurance member policies and policy wording.
  • Provide legal advice on a variety of matters including litigation, employment law, FSPO, consumer protection and company law.
  • Assist and support other areas within the business including the Compliance, Procurement and Third-Party Risk Management functions.
  • Ability to identify, assess and mitigate legal risk across the business. Ability to make decisions but to know when to seek further advices.

Eligibility:

  • Law Degree/Diploma or equivalent required. Professional Qualification from Lay Society, Kings Inn or equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years of similar experience post qualification in a legal firm or inhouse environment.
